Camp Hollis, the children’s camp in the town of Oswego, has been making summer happier for boys and girls since it was founded in 1946. Nestled on a wooded bluff overlooking Lake Ontario, the camp has an even longer history, starting in 1928 as a Health Camp for children at risk of contracting tuberculosis. Oswego’s Camp Hollis: Haven by the Lake is the story of how the camp has thrived for nearly a century, the camp’s founders who believed in their dream, the Oswego County leaders who continue to support it, and the caring counselors who’ve brought joy to thousands of children.
About the author: Jim Farfaglia lives in and writes about the history and culture of Upstate New York. In 2011, after a fulfilling career directing a children's camp and advocating for youth, Farfaglia transitioned to focusing on his lifelong interest in writing. Splitting his time between poetry and what he calls "story-driven nonfiction," Jim also enjoys helping others fulfill their dream of writing a book.
